Wrote a 30-page Business Plan in 24 hours, for a business start up under a deadline to impress a funder.

HOW: Coffee. Google. Tenacity. And, the epic transformation of a whole lot of hastily-compiled notes.

 

Developed and managed the concept, branding, fundraising, and communications for a *$10M+ multi-year capital campaign, which successfully funded the construction of a 14,000 square foot community center and social enterprise business.

HOW: A new espresso machine. A few sleepless nights. Over 2,000 documents, reports, flyers, grants, proposals, speeches, graphics, appeals, and pretty much anything and everything else you can imagine being written down or designed.

Secured over $3M in grant funding for nonprofit organizations.

HOW: Coffee. So much coffee. Grants are awesome! Until they’re not. And, then you coffee.

 

Served on the management team to launch Farm 12 Restaurant & Events that has consistently exceeded initial sales projections. Managed brand development, designed and built website, and directed communications and marketing, including print and digital strategies.

HOW: Divided my time between meetings and my desk. Learned a POS system. Worked with sub-contractors and consultants. Found a team member as committed as me, who could help create content and take really really good pictures of food.

 

Heard that the President of a manufacturing company exclaimed “THIS is what I wanted!” while he was reviewing my work.

HOW: A follow-up phone call, after a job well done.

 

Completely re-branded a startup company in 1 week, while I was on vacation in Hawaii, after they walked away from an expensive consulting firm that hadn’t delivered the results they needed.

The company went on to perform 200% better than initial projections, in their first year of operations.

HOW: Worked super efficiently between whale-watching and swimming in the ocean. Made note that Hawaii = ideal creative environment.

 

Fixed a website and refreshed content pro bono for a local nonprofit.

HOW: A trusting (and slightly desperate) organization gave me the log in and password for their website.
